is a pointless one We would still be where we are if Steele had played all season - just bringing him on on Saturday is not the answer to our problems
Not pointless really, we may have got a few more points had Muller not turned into a poor mans Colgan recently.
Thats not fair Colgan would not have let in those goals, fair enough he did not come very far from his line, but in shot stoppin g he was very good, only a few **** ups really, ( I know about the one against Swansea at Cardiff )
we should be thankful for the decent performances Muller has put in prior to Watford and Swansea games and not just judge him on these performances alone.
Some say he has lost his form - but how does anyone know long the dip in form will last?
nobody can know for sure - but whoever he plays in goal against Reading - if we lose, there will be plenty of "I told you he shouldn't have played him's"
who do you think should play against Reading? »

As good a reason as any as to why we should not change... He has not played since September and a lot of what people remember is based on his fantastic game at Anfield. Given the above, he is just as likely to make mistakes. Perhaps Muller mught be more determined than ever to atone for his mistakes. Keep the faith.
Why not? our season hinges on the next 4 games. We need 2 wins and given our struggle to score goals, I reckon we need 2 clean sheets to get that, and Muller has cost us goals. I think its a very relevant debate and if it were me, I'd be making a change.
Competition for places???? What is the point in this being stated as a squad aim if players are not rotated according to performance. The psuchology of sport has a big impact on the quiality of performance and Muller has just looked distracted and not well focussed of late. Maybe, if Steele had had one or two games it would have a) sharpened up Steele as second choice and b) brought back Muller to a higher level of performance, perhaps allowing any residual problems with his injury/operation to settle properly. There should have been a better rotation system with the keepers all season. Both would have benefited and so would the team.
RE: Why not? We still would have lost on Monday if Steele had played - in fact Muller made a cracking save in the first half (can't remember if it was 1-0 or 2-0 at the time) He cost us a goal at Watford fair enough but Special Kay missed an easy chance to score so it's unfair to put all the blame on Muller We still would have lost against Sheff Utd - he made some cracking saves in that game as well We could have Peter Schmeichel at his peak for the next four games and we would still struggle to win
Making saves but then spoiling it by making a gaff isnt good enough. I can think of several games this season after which Davey had to reaffirm his confidence in Muller publicly cos he's made a costly mistake. If he makes another blunder, I suspect the groaning from the crowd will be akin to what ODJ gets when he fluffs a shot on goal. Much harder to substitute a keeper when he's trying to crawl up his own arse.
Steele is a good solid performer who hasn't put a foot wrong in a barnsley shirt. Muller is overrated and his form this season has been patchy at best. Steele should have been in 2 months ago.
