Reds look at Swede keeper BARNSLEY are planning to give a trial to former Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Ola Tidman. It is understood that the Swede, who has been playing in France, will train at Oakwell and feature in Saturday's friendly at Halifax Town. Tidman is 27. He played 15 times for Wednesday in a spell stretching from summer 2003 to January 2005. He also played at Stockport before signing for the Hillsborough club. Barnsley are looking for an experienced understudy to No 1 Nick Colgan. Talks are still on-going with Kyle Letheran, the young ex- Swansea keeper, and Colin Healy, the former Sunderland midfielder. Letheran and Healy were both subs in the 3-1 defeat by Middlesbrough on Tuesday. Both are likely to be offered contracts. Tidman is not the only keeper Barnsley are looking at. Manager Andy Ritchie is giving priority to signing a second shop stopper in time for the season's start on Saturday week. Meanwhile Sheffield United are waiting for cash offers for want-away striker Geoff Horsfield. Manager Neil Warnock turned down Coventry's offer to take the 32-year-old on loan. United invested over £1m in the former West Brom centre forward. Ritchie is in the market for a striker but may wait until after the season starts to make his move.
