    O'Driscoll 8/13
Bookies persist in having him at odds on despite Whitey reportedly being told he is not in the frame. Wouldn't be popular with the fans, and surely has a safer/steadier/more suitable job with England youth? Hard to see what more he would bring than Danny.

    Hignett 7/2
Seems well thought of as a coach, yet Boro let him go after 18 months and he didn't get the Hartlepool job. No managerial experience - is that to do with his temperament? Too risky for me.

    Rosler 11/2
By far the most interesting candidate for me. Pro's: seems fairly firm disciplinarian; stickler for fitness; willing to adapt his tactics (unlike recent BFC managers); has good managerial experience; looks as though he likes to play attractive football where the circumstances permit, although will change this to suit the game; DIFFERENT! Cons: the team would be a longer term project (but by God do we need that); fans may not readily understand his methods.

    Burton 10/1
Has surely fallen at the first hurdle given an inept display Saturday and the club being obliged to refund the fans; may be a good bloke, but can we afford someone who is cutting their teeth at managerial level?

    Di Canio 14/1
    Come on, let's be serious!

    Sheridan 20/1
Struggles above League Two level? Has an aura of 'baggage' about him, to me.

    Johnson 20/1
Lacks experience, and his side lost to a dysfunctional Reds side last week.

    Redfearn 20/1
Managing a sleeping giant (and his boyhood club) at Mr Cellino's pleasure (probably short-lived); reportedly has an agreement to return as Head of LUFC Acadaemy if (when) it all goes tits up. Why would he come here now?

    Cook 28/1
With Spireites going well, no incentive for him to jump ship.

    Derry 28/1
Not vast managerial experience. NCFC arguably a bigger club than us.

    Others 33/1
Look to contain mostly bigger names unlikely to come to us for the money/prospects on offer.

    SUMMARY
Rosler is by far the most interesting candidate to my mind. He brings hunger (has reportedly expressed interest in the job), intelligence, and a long term plan. So for me:

    BEN! GET UWE!!!

He's not my first choice but Sheridan's still very good mates with Crossley.

Probably end up with an underwhelming choice anyway.

In what universe are Notts County a bigger club than us?

Guess I was thinking they were still owned by the Middle East consortium, CNT. I see they're two owners on from those heady days. Anyway, they've had some 'name' managers (Warnock, Ince, Allardyce, Erikksen). And they're above us in the league (just!)

We can no longer compete with the likes of Notts County.

Without sounding like a fan from over in sheffield, there's no way Notts County are a bigger club than us.

In a way I don't want us to rush into it too much but I want a new manager to be appointed soon so they can get in and sort us out and maybe get some positivity around here if possible. I would choose Rosler.

Steve Davis, Tony Mowbray, Nigel Adkins all missing from your list. All achieved more than he has.

Cant imagine Steve Davis giving up a cushy number at Crewe missen, a club that give managers time, to come to us with our record of sacking managers, be bonkers if he did.

33/1 others, Whitey. Probably tells you how likely they are.

Anyway, it's down to who Ken Bates wants now, innit?

How concrete is the information on O'Driscoll Whitey? I only ask because i'm actually scared they might go with him and I may be forced to not turn up when I don't want it to have to come to that. I can't stand spineless liars.

Whitey has spoken with Ben before, so is his info from 'The Oracle' himself?

We were told the process wouldn't be done in public this time, but if we contact the club to confirm it's not X or Y, then we'll get there by process of elimination, won't we?

If it's one of Ben's little helpers that has narrowed it down then he might be sent to the naughty corner!

And if Whitey is right, why is SOD still odds on with two firms?

    So many questions!

The bookies rarely have a clue when it comes to clubs appointment managers.

Flicker was 25/1 the morning we appointment him.

The Celtic manager Ronny Deila wasn't even on the list until a few hour before his appointment. Before that Owen Coyle and Mackay were alternating odds on.

But on the other hand, Danny was 7/4 in to odds on before his return.

The pull of a club he loves? A bigger club? More money?

You might be right. But he must be a candidate. In fact, I'm pretty sure he is.
