Bought a season ticket in the Ponty as was fed up of being told off by pensioners for swearing / coating off referees in the West Stand. Tried a couple of positions for size in the Ponty again towards back end of last season, liked what I found, hence the return. Looked forward to a bit of good natured swearing and ref baiting for the new season - only to find I am in a family stand - Full of Kids. Might rip up my season ticket and go back "West" - at least half of them in there are deaf, and the ones that aren't will be dead soon so it doesn't matter if you upset them. I think the stadium should be segregated, a bit like DJ Fatty Boy's Ponty plan - swearers, racists, mutton Jeffs, eternal optimists, pudding burners, internet nerds, peados etc.
with you on that one some of the ages are ridiculous there was a young family in front of us the young lass clearly had no idea what was happening and was bored after about 2 minutes. You could also say the same for about half a dozen others in the vicinity and that was on a warm day god knows what they will be like in January.
Some of these who don't know anything will be the fans in the future and we need as many as we can get! Better than a bloke sat in front of me with a Liverpool FC tattoo on his neck!
yeah thats right lets slag the club off for not doing anything about the crowds and then slag em off when they do!!! some people!...
WHO IS SLAGGING THEM OFF JUST THINK THAT THE FAMILY STAND IS THE PLACE FOR UNDER 5'S I DEF WOULD'NT HAVE WANTED MY KIDS LISTENING TO SOME OF THE COMMENTS FLYING ABOUT AT THAT AGE AND AS FOR FANS OF THE FUTURE IF THEY ARE PIG MISERABLE WHICH A LOT OF THESE WERE ITS HARDLY LIKELEY TO MAKE THEM FEEL GOOD ABOOT THE CLUB IS IT?
They should be able to go where they want It's up to the so called adults to control themsleves- saw more miserable looking adults than kids there yesterday! </p>
if anyone starts consistantly swearing near my young un i am afraid they get 1 warning. I aint a prude by anymeans but common sence and respect has to come into play when the young uns are about.
Isn't that what the Family Stand was created for? I've been going to football for 30 years and occasional swearing/banter is par the course and part of the atmosphere isn't it? I don't have a problem with the club introducing a scheme to encourage fans of the future but would have thought it was sensible to utilise the family stand which was half empty and where you would be guarenteed no swearing surely with all the younguns' abart!
I sit in the Ponty near the back and my son (4 in Dec) got a season ticket this season too. He loved the game, abit upset Toby Tyke didn't appear but was stood up clapping, singing and shouting............... Just have to explain to him that you don't cheer when the other team scores!!!!!!
We had two youngsters with use for their first game at Oakwell on Saturday. Sat in the East Lower; didn't have any problems with swearing and the kids seemed to enjoy the day. Suppose it just depends on who's around you!
