He couldn’t give answers to questions on the NHS .
Trump mentioned months ago the NHS was on the agenda of trade deals with the US .
Things have gone quiet since but Boris can’t be trusted nor should he be .
He’ll sell our NHS to Trump leaving only the shell as the filling underneath will be gone .
Whatever your views on Brexit the NHS is more important .

The Tories excuse is that demand has gone up ,
Demand has always gone up since the day the NHS was conceived .
Excuse after Excuse yes demand has always been a problem but it’s exacerbated when the Tories take power .
Profit is king to the Tories but profit should never be taken out of the NHS system .
Profit systems in vital industries is killing them as the transport industries prove .
Services are only served where a big profit is acrued with vital routes neglected either because there’s not a big enough profit or non at all .

Don't get me started on trains. I get the train to the airport on Tuesday for work.

Usually do Manchester - 2hours from Wombwell to Manchester - £41.10 return.

This week Birmingham - slightly longer (2hrs 20mins but train was 10mins late) from Swinton to Birmingham International - £48 single and I had to stand all the way!

Been looking at Gatwick (it takes 3 hours and has more flights), and on one specific service (7:47) from Doncaster its £46 single. Cheapest ticket from Swinton (£4 single to Doncaster) is £66...

Have you tried splitting your ticket. When I travel to Barnsley by train I split my ticket into 5 separate journeys and save about £20. From Oxford to Sheffield I do not have to change trains. It's all perfectly legal as long as the train stops at the station where you split your ticket.

Great to see the 2 main parties of chancers have taken lead doctor’s advice and not used the nhs as a tug o war for cheap votes. Loathsome beasts.

There’s only one party that doesn’t want the plight of the NHS on the scrutiny agenda , guess which blue rosette wearing party that is and why?

Doesn't matter to me as work pays, but it shouldn't cost £20 extra to take a £4 Northern train from Swinton to Doncaster. It shouldn't cost twice as much for one train to Southampton as it does for two to Gatwick. Birmingham shouldn't cost double Manchester.

Last time I looked at split ticket, I had to catch a specific train from Manchester to Stockport (think it was TPE), but they only run 1 per hour and the other train that I am more likely to catch is East Midlands.

The railway ticketing system is a mess. I think there is a review in progress to "simplify" it. However, I cannot see that it will necessarily work in the passenger's (or customer as the railway companies like to call us) favour. Not as long as in many cases they operate monopoly services.

As it stands at present the only government that is not allowed to own a British railway company is the British government. Nationalisation was not brilliant as I remember but it can't be any worse than the current set up.

    Rant over.

I don't think it's safe in anyone's hands now or in the future. It can't cope and we can't afford the cost of the increasing pressures. It was the labour party who first reneged on the 'free' bit though: first ever charge introduced for spectacles. Bevan was furious leading to his famous 'cascades of medicine" quote.
