Was for the 3 centre halves to sprint to the half way line and squeeze the game in the oppositions half.

The easiest tactic for us to re employ. Yet we are trying to press when half our team are still at the edge of our own box.

Vals tactic was what got all the teams to change the way that they played against us throughout that last 60% of the season.

Its absolutely mental to have changed it to what we have now, which is basically the crappiest tactic imaginable.

The one thing Ismael refused to do was compromise. It was an 11 player press, including the sweeper keeper. We conceded very few chances.

Now we have the back three stood 20 odd yards from goal, often very narrow, and wonder why we are getting crucified out wide.

Schopp is not able to set a team up effectively with a back three. I'm bemused by the fact that he keeps trying.

Big Val HAD a plan and you could see from the touchline that he was passionate about what he was doing - this feeds through to the players, this chump has nothing - trying to give the guy the benefit of the doubt is just putting lipstick on a pig - he is weak, worthless, like a wet blanket on the touchline, no plan no idea and hopefully no job by the end of today

To do that, you need to get the ball in the opponents half.... Also quickly

Which some are not happy with

It’s not just the tactics , yeah they were brilliant for us but they would have failed without the passion and belief Val had in spades, not to mention man management and getting the players onside and knowing when and who to bollock or put an arm around .

I love Val would and take him back in a heart beat. He would keep us up without a shadow of a doubt.

however there were signs that opposition teams had found us out towards the end of last season. Same thing seems to be happening with WBA this time around.

I highly doubt he would come back or that we could afford him but if he did I’m not sure it would be the success of last season. Although I’d settle for us staying up at this point
