The crowd.... Just over ten thousand against the league leaders is pathetic. What do the people of Barnsley want? We are in the top half of the Championship, unbeaten at home since the first match of the season and at times playing some great stuff. These are great achievements for the club. What do the stay away fans want? Today was a fantastic match and very entertaining, it's a shame only 9000 home fans were there to witness it. (N)
I thought 1,092 fans in the away end, when they were six clear at the top and hadn't been to Oakwell in six years was pathetic.
I have a great reason for not being able to go spent 10 out of the last 19 days in hospital That reason enough for you?
RE: I have a great reason for not being able to go You won't be a "real fan" to some on here (blagger) (blagger) (blagger) Hope you're better soon
Cheers. I did manage to go to a home game 10 days post op last time but had to use the East Stand lifts. Fingers crossed for next home match
RE: That's unfortunate.... quantafiable reason but where are the stay away fans - talked to some who had seen us on sky(x2) and we did not play too well then and basing our performances on that so were not going. But points make prizes ,we are not 7th in the league for playing crap football,to those fans who stay away
get down to Oakwell and see some good football ,the sky performances are not a true reflection of our game.Todays performance against the top of the legue shows how far we have come this season.

When will it sink into some of you lot? Barnsley have not got a big following, since the miners strike of the 80`s BFC fans have never been reghularly above what we have now, excluding the pre season. The year we got promoted to the prem. the crowds were bad . GET A GRIP AND UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS THE REAL BFC FOLLOWING! and yes we are atill playing crap footbal, with some exceptions the standard of football is piss poor this season.
Re: when will it sink in to you lot? He's probably just disappointed we won today - loves a good complaining session.
I agree completely with madmark. Looking back, the only exceptions for seasons with high attendances, were the 97/98 season and the couple following up until the Wembley appearance. Since then 11/12k has been the average...
No I just cant see the point in continuous moaning about the gates! Not had gates above what we are averaging now, since the strike, cant see that changing. And I really find you to be stupid if you think that all I do is want Barnsley FC to lose, Try being objective about the situation we are in, Do you see any way to get the fans that stay away, back to Oakwell? This site is sup[posed to allow people to air their views on how THEY feel. Its not to be so far up Simon Davey`s arse that you cant breathe! Some fans can see the problems that klie ahead, but if you dont care then . I have nothing more to say to you.
It seems that I am not allowed any opinion that differs from what some here think is the word of God If you agree with anything I say , that makes you a heretic by association. (doh)
Think a thread posted a few weeks back showed the % of a city/towns population that turn up to championhip grounds and we weren't too far from the top.
I just think... that if you think that we've played piss poor football for the majority of this season, then I'm not sure what you expect. There's been a few poor performances along the way, but we're 7th in the league, we've only lost 1 game at home all season, and we've put 3 goals past Bristol City (top 6), Watford (top 6) and Plymouth (top 6), as well as 3 goals away at Southampton, and a draw at Charlton. I don't argue your point about the gates - but the piss poor football for the majority of the season statement baffles me, thats all.
personal finances? i for 1 cant afford around £100 on footy sat/tues made my choice to goto swillsboro
