I fully agree with Barry Taylor.I think some folk on here tend to underestimate just what this man has done for the club.To name a stand after him is just rewards for his hard work, dedication and his continuing financial support. If its true he reads this board I'm surprised he didn't pull the plug ages ago. This club has come a long way in a short time and for me everyone at Oakwell deserves massive praise for there continuing efforts.

I'm sure Cryne would sooner live in a shed in Lundwood than have a stand named after him

But Barry's sentiment is rayt enough

I've nothing against having a stand called The Patrick Cryne Stand per se, but I believe it should be after Mr Cryne has left the club. It would seem very strange to me having a stand named after the current chairman. The name of the stands certainly need changing though, Pontefract Road End apart. We should celebrate our history, not have boring East, West and North stands. We should start by naming one of them the Tiverton Preedy stand. Surely that would get the backing of all Barnsley fans.

Maybe when the old West Stand is demolished the new stand could take Mr Crynes name.

West Stand - The Jonny Steele stand
East Stand - The Tommy Taylor stand
North Stand - The Rev Preedy stand

    Sounds good to me.

How about The Chris Corke Family Stand?

I quite like the east stand called the east stand, think it's been up too long now with that name to change it but I'd definetly rename the north stand which nobody has really taken to (lets face it we all just call it the away stand) and the west stand when it gets rebuilt. I'd call the west the tiverton preedy stand because it will be replacing a stand there when he was around.

When the corners are filled in which I believe cryne is quite keen on doing, I think other players names should be adopted. Didn't cryne say he wanted to fill in the corner between east and away stand and move the boardroom etc into it?

    **** the stands

they can add alter n build what they like n it wont get filled unless you've got a wad o cash,
hows about a decent supporters pub built onto/into the ground to cater for us working class scumbags who pay our hard earned?
im sure they'd be plenty o parts of the bar they can name it after, or **** it n just call it taggarts!

You mean like the D.W. Stadium?

Awful idea, it just makes him seem self obsessed by naming the stadium after himself.
