If that was'nt a penalty then why did'nt the ref book Knight for diving?

Maybe, just maybe, the reason Knight went over was because he overextended himself going for the ball.

When someone goes to ground it isn't always a foul or a dive.

It was a penalty, saw a few replays, and Flahavan should have been sent off

Handled outside the area, saw the freeze frame of when he caught it.

    Not that it matters now.

Was the ball out of play before tackle?

Only explanation I can think of.

    Otherwise, penalty or dive.

Or ref thought goalie got ball?

OR ref thought Barnsley didn't deserve a penalty at that time so didn't give one in accordance with the "I'm making it up as I go along" school or refereeing we often get graduates from at t'well.
