And violence by any bloke against women is just wrong. End of.
And no managers want to come to Barnsley so it's Davey or bust - get used to it.
Sorted.

All hail Dirk The voice of sense. That Peter Kay show was one of the funniest things I've seen in ages.
"Sorry but at times many many of you ladies need a slapping and a bloody hard one too." - Bert Sinclair. Who I believe is Dragon Tyke. I wonder what David in Lincoln thinks about the subject. Peter Kay's thing had some genuinely funny moments but I'm not sure it worked as a whole.
RE: "Sorry but at times many many of you ladies need a slapping and a bloody hard one too." I think Peter Kay's phoenix nights was one of the best things on TV in a generation - he can't live up to that but I think some may be judging subsequent stuff on that. I just enjoyed last night's thing for what it was - a piss take, without analysing it. But as with most things except braying women, comedy is subjective I s'pose.
Bert's comments will obviously be a 'wind up'. Obviously.

I believe you may well be spot on What with one disappearing and the other appearing at the same time
And with both chatting large quantities of crap, I think it's highly probable that you're spot on

RE: "Sorry but at times many many of you ladies need a slapping and a bloody hard one too." I think the problem with the Peter Kay thing last night, was that it seemed most of the people in it weren't comedians, so didn't seem to have that natural delivery that Peter Kay will always have.
Phonix nights was so brilliant because of everybody involved, and no doubt wouldn't have been so good with just him in it.
But I do agree to an extent, everything he does subsequently will always be compared to that. And for what it's worth, I think last night's show did have it's moments, but unfortunately, in my opinion, they were too few and far between

At last, some balance about the Kay thing I too thought some of it very good, some of it poor, some of it I didn't notice cos I was too busy knocking one out over Deeley
I liked the end. When it went off. Blessed relief. A couple of decent moments that made me smile, but a ratio of one smile per hour, I'd suggest that Schindler's List was about on par in terms of humour.
