    It ought to do the same with players' wages, as this will go some way to explaining why the prices have shot up. Similarly, the amount of money coming into the game from TV and sponsorship and where that money is going. To be honest though, the money never really went towards making the football experience better for the fans. It went into the directors' back pockets. This was shown up with the Bradford and Hillsborough disasters, where money just wasn't being spent on trivialities like ground safety. We then had a few years where money was forceably being spent on grounds, although even then it took a lot of handouts from the football league to make this happen, and now it's going into the players and agents' back pockets at a rate that 60s-80s dodgy directors could only dream about. And many of the stadiums are starting to look as decrepit as their pre-Hillsborough state.

    Still, wouldn't it be great to go back to 2p bus fares and 18 pints for £13!
