Yeah Goaty, it has been accused of being a Mungo Jerry - In the summer time rip off song, as they do sound very similar.
And here's Mungo himself btw, in the Buzzcock's Id parade. And despite having no silly sideburns now lol, he's hardly changed a bit.

 

These take me back to that era. When we were at primary school and someone would bring a record in and the teacher would play it for the whole class.

 

I've never heard of that one before Fitzy lol, so that was in the glitz/glam era of '73 was it ?.
