they will mean that the 3 relegated teams have a huge warchest to fund their promotion push-it will only take 2 or 3 seasons of immediate return of the relegated clubs for the Prem to say "well since no-one is able to get promoted bar the just relegated teams we may as well stop promotion to and relegation from the Prem"

they've been hankering after it for a few years now

Yes would agree. Its looking a bit like they want to keep an 'Exclusive' club for the chosen few.

Does this mean the premier league is going to increase by 3 teams?

    No way

I don't think that would happen - part of the excitement of the Prem is the relegation dog fight, take that away and the half the entertainment would be gone.

    Thats complete garbage

Currently the major interest is at that end of the table

Champs league goes to the usual 4 again

there is a scrap for the Uefa Cup but that is no where near as interesting as the relegation scap at the bottom. In any case if you scap promotion where does that leave big clubs like Leeds and Washday who happen to be in the wrong division at the time

It looks unlucky for a couple more teams then ,

I would have 4 up 4 down like in Italy as well.

Get that wealth distributed , its very rare that the same teams go up and down each season.

I would guess that the cup would get binned off.

    So never then.

"relegation has a financial impact on a club"

The great irony is, a lot of the clubs have dug their own graves but demanding a greater share of the TV money by voting in favour of the Premier LEague when it was initially formed, and then finding themselves up **** creek financially when they dropped out of it - Leeds, Wednesday, Forest, Southampton, Coventry etc etc.......

Does relegation have a financial impact on a club?

A simple solution then, Southgate, you brickhead

Give out the money much more equitably throughout the leagues, thereby

a). reducing the financial impact of relegation

b). making it easier to make the step up to the prem
