I think someone posted on here last week that they could only see us getting points from Peterborough at home in the remaining games. Thought that was a bit pessimistic, but having looked at the remaining games, there certainly aren't any easy ones. Surely unthinkable that we could get dragged into a scrap though? Just seen the bit about the Dagnall loan as well. What's that about? We only signed him in January. Was it a favour to The Don's old club? After one year out, this season is not persuading me to rejoin the ranks of the ST holders.
I think we have a tough run it but we will stay up. I haven't had a season ticket for a few seasons due to money, young family, work and ***** football. I will however be buying one next season because I think Hill has the potential to be a very good manager, has done very well this season in difficult circumstances and I like what the club is trying to achieve. I doubt I will be able to get to more than 50% of the games but I think the club deserves backing.
After one year out, this season is not persuading me to rejoin the ranks of the ST holders its ok, us loyal fans will keep the club going through tough times till the good times come again then you can come out of your hidey hole and pretend you,ve always been a loyal supporter.
Loyalty cost money though, im unable to attend as many matches as i used to due to finance. Doesnt make me any less loyal does it?
was replying to thread starter, if you read his post he doesn,t refer to money he refers to current form, so yes that makes him less loyal.
Cheers Marlon! On a more serious note, is there nothing the club could do that would make you withdraw your support in order to express displeasure about the way the club is going?
after watching them ply their trade in the bowels of the old fourth div our current plight is a walk in the park. i can understand fans who are struggling fiscally and i sympathise but fans who keep away because of bad patches etc no.
I too watched them ply their trade in the bowels of the old fourth division, my friend. Fact is, even in those dark days, the club had a soul. We were always prey to an offer for our better players, but back then it wasn't an openly stated policy. Football is a business these days, and we are customers, not supporters. £30 a game is not money to be spent on an inferior product. You can spend less than that and see Group 1 racing at Doncaster or York, or World Championship snooker at Sheffield. For that much a person you can enjoy a fine meal at Beatson House, or go to the Theatre. The sooner our club wakes up to this, the better. There is more competition for our dollar than just within the football world.
unless he gets gerrard, rooney and tevez on loan i cant see us getting any points.why dont he instead of praising the players what they played like give em a right bollocking because to me these players are walking all over him cos hes too soft with em.
I reakon he does...in private............but the truth is 'some' of them dont look good enough at this level......and as the old saying goes,he now got to p i s s with the p r i ck he's got!!!
he will be doing just that behind closed doors, its an unwritten law rightly or wrongly that you don't slate players publilcly. remember phil browne with the hull players, he didn't last long after that
you may be a customer i'm a supporter, thats where we differ my friend choose how long you've been watching them. and thats where the thread started.
New to the forum but not to the club. Cant understand why we use players from lower leagues that dont have the skills & experience to compete in our league. Yes i understand that players have to start out someware but come on dont play with our championship status. Why doesnt he bring more of the very good players that have grown in our own academy who want to play for the club and dont let money control them. Our young academy players p*ss on a lot of the players in the first team. LETS HAVE SOME NEW BLOOD who want to win
Yep. I think sixpence a week in the days of the Rev T. Preedy was fair enough. Its a business now, and £30 a game ain't sixpence a week. And I think the feel of the club has heightened the lack of a feeling of belonging for many. Crap website, lack of communication from the owner, one man band running the day to day show. It's not the club I've followed for 44 years.
it's always been a buisness. the powers that be which started the league didn't do it for love alone. football clubs had been around a while and buisness men put the idea to have a league so they could charge money. but we are supporters because of and inspite of them. but at least our chairman as well as being a buisnessman has the best interest of our club at heart and imo doing a decent job. in no way would the current owner/owners do anything to jepordise the existence of bfc. the status of which league or position is down to results but whatever happens they'll be a contigent still there supporting, keeping the club going for the good times to come again for the fickle to once again honour us with their presence.
