The ref just kept giving them freekicks on the edge of our area until they scored

    The bag of jism

On the balance of play it was probably a fair result, but it shouldn't have been a free kick. Neither should half the others which gave them plenty of practice.

I thought we played well today against a decent Preston side but failed to create enough clear cut chances. Full marks to the lads for really going for it towards the end when Preston were hanging on. That's 7 points from 9 which will do for me.

A very big thanks to all at Barnsley football club for a great 2008, let's hope we can step it up in 2009 and consolidate a midtable position.

    Agreed

Thought ref was completely on their side and how he could give that free kick is ridiculous. But, I was impressed with Preston and thought they deserved a point. They never allowed us time on the ball and that meant we hardly created a thing.

Agreed about the referee, don't really agree on Preston. Can't believe they are/were 7th in the league, they offered next to nothing.

As for Jon Parkin, good grief.

Thankyou to the Reds for a good 2008, and if we have a good January, relegation won't be something we're even thinking about by February.

Preston were sharper than us today. And deserved a point. And got one because of Parkin.

The referee was a bag of *****. I couldn't believe what I was seeing when he gave that free kick. Just tell me if you can how you can give a free kick when Jon Parkin falls down like he has been shot when he is the size of the west stand? We played some good stuff today and I was impressed how we pushed forward towards the end. CMON YOU REDS!!

I think we were robbed - not only was he giving as many free kicks to Preston, he watched one of their players pull down Rigters in the box and gave nothing and failed to see fat jon take out fozzie. And dpn't get me started on the offside flag that was half way up then not up then the ref gives offside.

    Not to mention

We should have had a penalty late in the game when Moore was hauled to the ground.
