<h3 class="headline" id="headline"> </h3><div class="articleBody" id="articleBody"> NEWLY qualified Football League referee Gary Sutton got it wrong at Burnley on Tuesday night - and that's official.</p> Sutton ordered Reds skipper Paul Reid from the field of play to have his armband fixed and left Andy Ritchie's side a man down. Burnley scored their equaliser while Reid was waiting to come back onto the pitch.</p> Referees' chief Keith Hackett told the Sheffield Star today: "My colleagues were at the game and Gary Sutton, a young just qualified referee, has been given some operational advice. First of all the Football League regulations say that the captain has to wear an armband. It therefore comes under the heading of equipment. </p> <span>"What should have happened was the referee should have waited for a break in play and the armband could have been taped then rather than asking the captain to leave the field."</span></p></div>
A real consolation for us I'm sure Hackett you useless twit. Surely the effect of being a player down THROUGH NO FAULT OF OUR OWN was instrumental in their defeat Edited by the Dirk Hartog swear filter avoidance system
Well ffs, surely that's basic stuff that they should know. But hey, it's all good, he's had a bit of advice. We just conceded a goal whilst he was coming to terms with the rules & regulations of his job. So nowt to get bothered about. The half witted moron. I hope his **** drops off.
No worries then, perhaps he should've just kicked one in our net himself then eh ? F-u-c-k-ing hell fire.</p>
when I said "you're fired" ............ I meant from reffing games at this level-he should go back to the Ryman /Unibond and learn his trade
unbelievable! of course you can't blame the ref for any poor performance by our team-you CAN blame him for his own poor performance</p> most jobs now have "performance management"-horrible term-built in -he should as I say be dropped to a lower level</p>
RE: unbelievable! Which he no doubt will be if he dosent perform, unfortunately other teams may suffer as a result, hopefully we wont get him again..
