Wherever you drive these days it's like you're in a clown's car, bumping up and down because of all the pot holes. The roads are a disgrace. We're told it's because of all the harsh winters. Our roads can't cope with the cold.

The sun's been out for just 3 days now for the first time in over a 18 months and the roads are melting! Just walked back from town and me booits are covered in tar. As is my door mat.

The road where I live was resurfaced (on the cheap) last year, so when temperature gets above about 14 degrees C the tar melts. Leading to kids walking tar in the house all summer.

its a bit pathetic isnt it really - its not as if we dont know that in winter it gets cold - below freezing even and in summer it gets warm some days it will be over 20C

I hate to praise the french but I drive regularly to Chambery in the French Alps - in summer the temperature gets to mid 30's Centigrade - I have been there in the winter when the temperature is -15C and the roads there are fine so it can be done

Last time I was in Sheffield I was shocked at the quality of the roads. Though to be fair, compared with the standard here they were still like a snooker table.
