    Imagine designing a new £2 coin to commemorate HG Wells, and managing to get the hat worn by the "Invisible Man" wrong.. and then adding an extra leg to the famous literary "Tripods" - as well as quite as well endowed prehensile appendage...

    Maybe it's a Male tripod, and he's well hung? Wonder if they'll do a female tripod, LGBTQ+ tripods and BAME tripods.

    They're doing a Heather Mills McCartney one with 2 legs and an Oscar Pistorius with just the one.

    They'd also considered a Jake The Peg one with 4 but felt it inappropriate.

    This thread has prompted me to have a look at the Royal Mint website. Some very nice coins for sale on there, if you like that sort of thing, especially the uncirculated ones. Not cheap though...
