The search for a New striker...

I hope we have more success than last years offerings......

I know a lot has been said about whether Christensen should have played or not, I dont want to get into that but Ive just looked at his career stats. Prior to joining us:

2000 to 2007 (7years)

35apps 34sub 24goals

What attracted us to him??????????????????????????????????

He averages 5 starts a season with 5 subsitute apps. We have 46 league games per season and the cup games on top. Thats almost more than hes played in the rest of his career put together. Ok he has a good goal ratio, but still he just hasnt played anywhere he's ever been!!!!!!!

He represented a huge chunk of our transfer budget..... I know these are the sorts of gambles that we had to take as we couldnt compete with the other free spending clubs in our division, but now we can look back and realise rather than the £1m spent on KO, Christensen, Mossto we could have bough just one quality striker and put him on a decent wage. I hope lessons have been learnt!!!

.....and that single striker may have been no better or could have been injured in his first game. Buying only one striker for whatever amount is a bigger gamble than spreading the budget and signing three. Hindsight is a wonderful thing!
