Football doesn’t have to be so complicated, despite what the analysts say. I think we have to play players in their natural position as much as possible now. No dicking about. Team for Sunday, I’d go with a 4-1-3-2. Collins Brittain, Helik, Sibbick, Vita; Gomes; Frieser, Hondermarck, Styles; Woodrow, Iseka. Moon if Sibbick not available. Wouldn’t want to drop Woodrow but if I had to I’d swap him out for Oulare. Tactics: Brittain looks wrecked, but a solid game at right back, when he’s not charging aimlessly forward might just give him a boost. Keep it tight. Defend corners, the way you’ve been told to defend them since the age of 7. Try your best to put the ball in the opposition net. Defend your own nets like it’s a South Yorkshire derby. If you take the lead by some miraculous twist of fate, defend it at all costs until the final whistle. Don’t worry too much about tactics, just try and score and don’t concede. Don’t let the ball bounce in the box. When you pass the ball, make sure the receiver wears red. Play to the whistle. You’ve got nothing to lose and the fan base couldn’t be any more dejected.
My suggestion would be lads ignore schopp and his confusing tactics....you get the ball in defence lump it forward and play more direct ...if he comes any where near the training pitch.....walk off it....when he walks off you lot walk back on it ...he's ruining all your confidence.....what's Conway and Co going to do ...you are not refusing to train your just refusing to listen to him......I'm sure collectively you can do better with out him
Think we need to go to two banks of 4. Either 4-1-4-1, or 4-4-2. I'd go 4-4-2. Collins J Williams Helik Kitching (or Moon/Sibbick depending on who is available) Vita Brittain Gomes Palmer Styles Iseka Woodrow Swap Iseka for Hondermarck if it was 4-1-4-1.
Red Rain says we can't play Woodrow up front on his own as he doesn't have any of the attributes of a loan striker.
4-4-2 for me Collins Brittain Helik Kitching B Williams Frieser Hondermarck Gomez Odour Adeboyejo Iseka
Good side. I'd build the team around Hondermarck. I was astonished he was subbed last night. I came back from the fridge and he'd gone. Palmer, Gomes and Hondermarck were starting to get a hold on the game and Hondermarck was linking up well with the forwards.
Agreed, only outfield player who can hold his head up from yesterdays shambles, Gomez didn't do much wrong but he seemed to disappear for long stretches. Taking our best player off last night just about sums up this pudding we've got in charge, he hasn't got a clue.
I agree with having 2 banks of 4. This would be my team: - Collins Williams J, Helik, Moon, Williams B Brittain, Sibbick, Kitching, Oduor Palmer, Gomez, Styles Iseka, Woodrow, Oulare
Doesn't matter what we think, Schopp will select another baffling squad, set us up a baffling way and then make substitutions that can't affect the game. We'll lose, the fans will demand Schopp is sacked and the board will ignore us. Repeat for the next game...and the next...and the next...and the...
I think he holds us in contempt mate. I honestly think he started him at right centre back to spite the player and the fans. He was punishing him for the Reading defeat.
Or Sibbick was injured late in the build up and he was faced with a change of formation with no notice, or find a replacement given Sibbick, Mads, Halme and Kitching were all unavailable. I thought Hondermarck did pretty well to be fair. A bit of physicality and his passing wasn't too bad in the most part.
