£40,000 for making fourth round of the FA Cup. Barnsley boss Andy Ritchie admitted his team were bullied out of the FA Cup last night. After one of the poorest performances of the season Barnsley lost 2-0 at Walsall and lost out on a fourth round trip to Stoke City plus £40,000 prize money. Said Ritchie: " I feel that some of them did not give their best out there and we need our players to start taking responsibility. I feel bitterly disappointed for our supporters who made the trip. " I know just how well we can play and how well we have played this season. In the second half we just did not have the fight and we have not been missing that all season. We were bullied out of the game. We have a big game coming up on saturday and we have to make sure we put things right. " etc... Said Ritchie " I think the first was offside, everyone I've spoken to has said that. They got the second as we were chasing the game. " etc... Ritchie gave the players time off today. " We'll be having a heart to heart tomorrow, it's about time the players had a go at each other when they're out there. If someone's not doing it out there they should be yelled at and not only by us from the dugout." (doh)
* So thats what you call chasing a game. * £40,000. Money very much needed, handed over to Walsall. * So this means "some" of them actually did give their best last night?
De ja vu I've heard himsay these words before and I've heard another manager say similar before too...
