Welsh international Nardiello quit Barnsley last summer for QPR although manager Simon Davey had offered him a new contract.

He went back to Oakwell on loan in January and in eight starts scored once.

He is currently on holiday with the Barnsley squad in Spain.

Davey is planning talks with him tomorrow.

Nardiello is still under contract at QPR but manager Luigi De Canio is unlikely to stand in the way of a move.

Meanwhile, one-time Barnsley target Keigan Parker has been released by Blackpool.

The Scot topped the Oakwell wanted list in January. Although the clubs agreed a fee, the 26-year-old Scot scuppered the deal.

Parker, who has scored 41 goals for the Seasiders since signing from St Johnstone in 2004, is being linked with Championship newcomers Swansea and Nottingham Forest.

n Barnsley's Paul Reid says he would welcome a permanent move to Carlisle.

His loan there has been cut short by an ankle injury and he has returned to Oakwell for treatment.

"I've got another year on my contract at Barnsley but my future probably lies away from there," Reid said.

"Carlisle would definitely be one of the clubs I'd be keen on and the ball is in their court."

I always rated Parker. Wouldn't mind us getting him in on a free. Don't think Davey will entertain the idea though after he rejected us in January?

If Davey is foolish enough to make him a offer he can't refuse. Then Davey should be swimming with the fishes.
