The story behind last week at Oakwell

Kay was dropped to the bench, he asked Davey why, so was sent into the boxes.
A player who was suited and drinking larger was then brought down from the lounge to take his place on the bench.

The players hate Davey and barley speak to him in training. It's his way or else.

There are also a few unexpected changes to the team for today. Not gonna say yet though.

No trouble with the manager being "remote" from the players.

The same with the Chairman and the manager , too matey and objectivety can be lost.

Not saying that the team is all sweetness and light towards SD nor am I saying he was the best man for the job but its natural for players whom have had an almost guaranteed first team slot and then find themselves out of the picture to be unhappy and to even spread that to others especially when an "outsider" is brought into a small group and starts ringing the changes.

I think that the team under AR was a much more relaxed (rightly or wrongly) IMHO probably far too relaxed. SD is probably trying to rid the players of that mindset and adopt a more regimented disciplinarian approach and stamp his authority even if it means upsetting the apple cart. Hopefully this will be shortlived and he can return to a more balanced approach.

I dunno I just hope we can win 6 more games this season and have the summer to take stock and make the necessary improvements to make mid table a more realistic hope albeit 12 months too late.

 

An awful lot of the players want to leave at the moment, even regulars.

I think that approach only works....

If the manager has the respect of the players. I don't think the players respect Davey or his decisions. There is big big trouble at Oakwell.

 

I am sure

a lot of the players dont have the respect of Davey! (or a lot of the supporters for that matter)

Lets hope we have enough time for some mutual respect to develop before we are stranded

 

I dont think people complain about being dropped if their replacement is better.

I think they do

although in this case I think the inclusion of Mattis at the expense of others and the mystifying Williams debacle were certainly causes for complaint.

I think the issue with Kay is less cut and dried.

No doubt all players left out, unless injured, think they should be starting games especially when the team is not producing the results.

all we can do is get behind em and hope.

 

Isnt that why we keep chopping and changing,

we are getting neither performances nor results hence until something clicks its gonna be change city.

 

We have just had 4 new much needed arrivals

it'll take few games to sort out.

Lets hope its done by Tuesday.

 

If the "players hate" Davey

There's no way we're going to succeed. There's a difference between respecting someone and hating someone. Wayne Rooney respects Fergie, but there is no way he hates him.

 

Keep things in perspective Tina! You have to remember that the majority of posters on here know no more than you or I about what happens beheind the scenes at Oakwell! They allow their vivid imaginations to work overtime and embelish what few "facts" that they have!

 

Spot on there tynetyke. There are some real conspiracists around Oakwell at the moment. If you listen to all the rumours you would believe that the club is being run by the mafia.
