Let's hope the players sue him for libel, AND... He get charged for wasting police time. Stupid fecking lovely person.
Well, surely if the players have been cleared of any wrong doing...where did he come up with his allegations? I'd love him to be a taxi driver in Glasgow for a week, then he'd know what a beating was.
It can be that the police don't pursue a case because there is insufficient evidence because of the lack of a witness. If the police do have evidence that allegations were fabricated then they can press charges for wasting police time.
Perhaps, but I don't think we ever knew the nature of the alledged attack. He may have marks consistent with an attack but those marks could be from a previous attack. We don't know the full details of the case, we don't know exactly why any charges have been dropped. So I think it's time to stop speculating on all this and move on.
It's only the club that has cleared the players of any wrongdoing in anything I've read. No charges are being brought - probably on the advice of CPS.
Mud sticks eh? You're making assumptions here about why the charges have been dropped. You could equally assume that there was in fact no case to answer and that is why no charges were brought.
RE: Mud sticks eh? All I'm saying is that it would be the CPS who made that decision - is that not right?
I have absolutely no idea either way. Haven't heard or seen any of the evidence so it's not my place.
No, it's not. You put an implication in that the charge may only have been dropped because they couldn't be proved which is entirely different to there being no charges to answer, which the club is saying. You have no evidence for your implication. Nothing, not a sausage, bugger all.
RE: No, it's not. You put an implication in that the charge may only In which case I apologise. That's not how I meant it. I've not read anywhere that there were no charges to answer. All I've read is that they were released from police bail without charge.
Nope - they aren't consulted for every decision only the more complex issues - so if there was naf all to go on then the decision would have been made without consulting cps
RE: Mud sticks eh? The police make a decision on whether or not to involve the CPS. If the evidence was paper thin then they wouldnt bother even filing it with them. Maybe there was no evidence because it didnt happen and the players were telling the truth with their version of events. In which case the police should be looking to charge the driver with wasting their time. But anyway, glad its all over with. Back to the football.
