    The argument is thrown into nonsense when you consider that, in 1994, we didn't even qualify for the World Cup, and since then, we've reached the last 8 twice, and the last 16 once.

    add to that

    the fact that the percentage of foreign players hasn't changed in the last five years and yet we probably had our best chance of winning the World Cup for ages last year.

    Added to the fact that a good percentage of the last 4 winning teams used non home based players to win it. The fact comes down to our over hyped Premiership, we don't play a Premiership style when we play Internationals so why do our players need to play in it.

    Well..

    Brooking and his ilk at the FA wanted the Premiership and allowed the game to be prostitued away. Perhaps the league ought to grow some balls and create a new England team selected from all four divisions, just like other home nations do
