Seems to have been a very quick trial & sentence, all in order to preserve their tourist industry. I wouldn't be surprised if something similar happened again.
Less than two weeks after the crime Trialed and sentenced. DNA and witness evidence that proves beyond any doubt, with their guilty plea they will be commuted to life on appeal mind. Still a pretty swift system, even if it is to protect the Tourism Industry.
Wouldn't be surprised at all if these 2 didn't do it but it was some high ranking official who did it and they've been stitched up. One for Roundsman I think! And what about one law for one and another for the poor "Fair Trials Abroad's Stephen Jacobi said he was "disappointed" at the death sentence. He said he was not aware of a death sentence being imposed in similar murder cases in Thailand and highlighted the jail term given to a police sergeant who killed a British couple last year" http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/4623024.stm
The only problem with the death penalty is.. what good is a pardon to a dead man? No justice system can ever be perfect or infallible, just ask the Birmingham 6, the Guildford 4 or Stefan Kyskow, amongst others. Fortunately for them, they were victims of miscarriages of justice after the abolition of the death penalty. There have been plenty not so fortunate.
