All this talk about giving him the job.... What happens when hill gets a new job. We might end up looking for a manager again...
I don't believe that Flicker would leave a managerial position to become Hill's assistant again. He might join up with him again if we decided to sack him.
I think Flicker should walk after Saturday. He might end up being a very good manager/coach but because of his link to K.Hill and the dreadful year we've had people have already made there mind up,a bit like Simon Davey's tenure.Every defeat he suffers he will be reminded of his previous links and the board will be damned for taking the so call cheap option. So for me it should be thanks but no thanks.
I think Flicker is acting in a very loyal way and keeping things ticking along at BFC and needs commending for this. BUT he is not the man going forward.......the statement from BFC saying they wish to re-unite fan base means, by default, Flicker simply cannot get the job.
He's second favourite on the poll. So I wouldn't say everyone's against him getting the position permanently.
I wouldn't want him permanently (unless he engineers some amazing climb up the table and cup run heroics) but the way things are going it may be worthwhile giving him the post until the end of the season and then reassess the situation based on his record and who else is available/interested.
Is he second in poll because those who have voted for him are worried that going for anyone outside of club may reject us again? If Flicker is the man, then why didn't they sack Keith Hill earlier, thus giving Flicker more games to avoid relegation and time to deal in January transfer window? Everything points towards Flicker not getting job.
We are Barnsley. It does not matter who we appoint - 2 years down the line we *will* be looking for a manager again....
So let me get this right. Flicker is not the man, but if he gets us up the table and saves us he is the right man. What sort of support is that. Don't sit on fence either vote yes or no
