Is that despite the bravery, the honesty and the spirit of our team giving absolutely everything for the cause since January, there are teams that aren't doing likewise who are most likely going to survive, and increasingly likely at our expense. I remember back in the Machin years when we got unlikely wins at Ayresome Park, Elland Road and Bramall Lane to achieve safety from a seemingly lost position. It's still possible to survive but with a team who have taken two huge body blows in a week, who have seen teams they've outfought pull away to safety and are ravaged by injuries and suspensions, it's a huge ask. We're desperate for a hero.
This is where a manager really earns his corn. There's no point at all in playing the situation and position we are in. Mentally they have to take it as a game of football like any other that they are trying to win and concentrate on working hard, relaxing and playing without fear. If football teaches us anything it's that there are always plenty of surprises and that until the final whistle goes it's not all over. Never, ever, ever give in.
And if we'd have been offered this position when Hill was sacked i think we might have bitten someone hand off for it.
When Flitcroft took over we were I think 5 points from safety and had played a game more than anyone else. The season's not over yet.
How do we know if other teams are or are not showing the things you mention we are showing? We don't watch them play so we don't know if the results others are picking up are lucky or not.
Well my eyes, my ears, my contacts all suggest to me we're one of the most hard working honest teams in the division.
We had hero's last night all over the pitch. Don't give up on these lads they will fight to the end. Their attitude is terrific
Couldn't agree more. They've given absolutely everything. Can't fault their attitude, I can't think of a harder working side we've had. I just fear the needles on empty and they don't quite have enough to give to make the difference. Really hope I'm wrong.
Flicker and the players have given everything they've got, just to get us where we are. They get my backing 100%. The joker at Spotland is to blame for this
