no this is not about our life in the championship, were not dead men walking.... well not yet anyway!! does anybody like this tv series, its a violent near futuristic zombie thing which reminds me of certain bloody video games. its not to everybodys taste of course but they are up to the 4th series right now and its still exciting for me. what amazes me is the Yanks didnt realise that the two main characters (Rick & the Governor) are both English actors putting on an accent. some of them felt cheated when they knew this, just shows them up for what they are really doesnt it :nails:
Second series was pretty boring. When you're watching a zombie film/series and you're hoping that several of the characters get eaten and soon, you know something's wrong! It did hot up again in the third series though, once said characters were out of the way! I'm a fan of the comics though, and things are more fast moving there and a damn sight more violent. The governor in the comics doesn't have the human side that David Morrissey showed. And there's an even nastier villain down the line!
I really enjoy it, I'm not usually in to the whole zombie thing but I think walking dead as been brilliant
Aww come on gordon, you cant make a comment like that and leave us fans on the edge!! I know what happens to the Governor, but the latest episodes start next weekend. I love the way Michonne swings that sword around and slices the zombies limbs and heads off. there really is something sexy about a bird who knows how to kill a zombie. i love it
Michonne is the clear fanboys favourite in the comics (I don't mind admitting that an action figure of her wielding her sword sits on the shelf upstairs in my office!) but the favourite in the TV show is Daryl, who isn't in the comics. The TV show doesn't exactly mirror the comics though. In some ways it improves, by playing on the human drama, but in most ways it disappoints, by overplaying the human drama. In the comics Shane was despatched pretty early on, but they didn't half drag out the love triangle bit. I was counting the days down to the governor's assault on the prison to get rid of the whiny Lori, but then they offed her a bit earlier. On the whole though the comics are much more violent and characters come and go at a much quicker rate. Tyreese, for example, is a major character in the comics, but is killed, horribly, by the governor during the assault on the prison. In the TV series he is only just about to become one of the leading characters. On the other side of that, Andrea was a totally different character in the series, whilst she is still going strong in the comics and is one of the main characters. I am a few issues behind though, so she may well have been eaten by now. The new villain doesn't come into it for a while, but the TV series really needs a human villain, so they may well bring him forward in the story. I'm lead to believe we're going to get more on the struggle with the zombies for a while though, so they're going to be put back to the forefront as the villains. Honestly, aside from BFC, zombies are my thing. Well, zombies, Batman, James Bond and The Beatles!
i really liked & disliked david morrissey as the Governor, its quality writing and production (and the actor himself) when they can make you change your mind so much like that about one character. and to be honest i liked shane and was sad to see the way they got rid of him at the end of series 2. you need a baddie to make a series like this work and im looking forward to the new so called hunters and 'negan' who ive heard a lot about. id really like to get hold of the comics to be honest.
