Lying in bed with a bad dose of flu, the proper rather than the'man' variety and reading Harry Redknapp's book 'A Man Walks On to a Pitch' I started pondering why our team is not doing better than it is. Now I haven't seen as many games as I would like this year, I live in Cambridge and I need more incentive than I've been offered to make the 3 hour drive. I do read this board however and the problems we have seem to be, according to what I have read.

We have no ball winner in midfield.

We play a diamond and we are not good enough at it.

We play 4:3:3 and get overrun in midfield.

The back four is paper thin.

    Did I miss anything?

The questions I've got are these, we are playing in Football League Division 1, it's not a pub league, but neither is it the Premier League, so why are we so s***. I don't believe in changing managers and I want Danny to succeed, but with all of his vast experience, why can't he see what is needed and do something about it?
We are getting out thought by teams we would gave looked down a short while ago.

Bad runs are one thing, but professional footballers training every day shouldn't need a full season to get it right.

You missed the fact that we have all the experienced members of the squad, other than Lita, Cranie and Turnbull injured. Oh and Cranie is a piss poor centre half anyway!
Also we could not get all the players Wilson wanted in the summer, we got lots of players that scored lots of goals in lower leagues instead !

Thanks for that. We're just unlucky then?

No we are poor, but we havent always been poor when everyone was fit.
I know Wilson was hoping that we could pick up a more aggressive midfielder on loan ,but was knocked back on at least 2. Cranie not leaving hampered the signing of others too.
