For me, if i'm honest, was not the worst but the most memorable missed when Spud Murphy hit the crossbar against Newport and the ball virtually landed in the circle on the half-way line. Apart from that, it has to be 87/88 home game against Shrewsbury and their bloke blazed it well over the crossbar afte we had just gone one nowt up.
Darren Barnard...Wembley Stadium Never looked like scoring - shitting his pants and had hescored it I have no doubt we would have won the game. Where would we be now? in Boltons position or Bradfords?
John Aldridge Can't remember the year. I was stood near top of Ponty end and it almost came straight for me. Laughed myself silly.
mi memorys a bit hazy but did he take it in front of the away end in front of about40 shrews fans waving little inflatable pigs,i recall the ball nearly clearing thestand an'all.

you must have been the back then did his stupid stop start and twatted it miles over, think it was a boxing day game
RE: you must have been the back then Cause Lee Butler phased him by not diving when he did the stop/start
That was a quality incident. Other piss-poor pens include..... ....Liddell against Arsenal, Higgy against Hudders for his hat-trick, and Betsy against Hartlepool I think. Oh, and any England pen in a shootout at a major tournament.
Dean Gorre against Oldham Stutters his run-up, keeper dives, only has to stroke it into empty net - chips onto crossbar!
Last minute for a win an' all, IIRC.

Nardiello against Palace this season Fortunately the ref made him take it again, but the initial one was awful
