When the referee indicates the injury time when we are leading by one goal is it possible to have the time counting down on the score board ?
So when it elapses the crowd can go crazy, the players can point it out to the ref and get the points in the bag, or are their rules against it?

No, apparently it could be seen as leading the referees decision as to how many minutes he actually plays. It's some sort of FL rule or something.

Good that's what they want, half of them forget to look at their watch last 3 games we've played they gone at least a minute or two over what they've said Gillingham was unbelievable

If we're behind we're not going to be winning anyway, get one point at most, if winning you drop two if you concede.

If the team are above us then we lose 3 points on them which might be critical

Personally think it should go the other way, i.e. Reset the clock and count up, as it's 'a minimum of'. That way we can see exactly how much extra is being added on. Not that you'd be able to work it out, on our piece of $hit scoreboard..

Its what it says - its a MINIMUM of! Something may happen that warrants the extra extra so to speak.

I'm sure we used to do this, probably around or just after the time the scoreboard went it. The clock used to count down the added time at the end of the game.

There are two certainties at Oakwell regarding time added on.

    1. If we are winning 1-0 they will put up a minimum of 5 extra minutes, and probably play 6 or 7 just to give the opposition a sporting chance.
    2. If we are losing 1-0, and pressing hard for an equaliser there will be 2 or 3 extra minutes, and the ref will blow exactly as those minutes expire.

It's the law of football I'm afraid ;)

Gillingham was about right, I clocked it on my stopwatch.

I'm a fun bloke like that.

I dont know if it applies in domestic football, but at one of the World Cups a few years back one of FIFA's daft rule changes for it was that no scoreboards or playing time indicators were allowed to count past 45 minutes or 0.00(ie not counting any stoppage time)...

    it wouldnt work
substitutions can happen in injury time and injuries
we would need the board to go up to indicate how much time is added on to injury time
just use a stopwatch if you have one
