Cos Mcphail has been unavailable? I realise we have won without him and lost with him but in general...... anyway if fit would he picked? could we play him and howard? For me Shuker is off the boil and shopuld be rested views
Agree re Shuker. To rest him he would have to play McPhail and probably move Howard onto wing, unless Kell can play there
Missed him against Hartlepool and Huddersfield think he wouldve made the difference between a draw and us scoring enough to win. think Burns and McPhail are our best and most settled midfield pairing, rate Howard highly, so for me Devaney and Shuker would be the ones to be rotated, depending on form. think with Wright starting up front, we should place emphasis on getting service to him, and Devaney is a much better crosser of the ball than Shuker. McPhails set piece delivery is the best we've got. I'd rest Shuker, bring him on in last 20 mins when opposition are tired, maybe.
RE: Missed him against Hartlepool and Huddersfield He is the best set piece deliverer, when he resists the temptation toplay pointless 2 yard passes from free kicks and puts a ball in with pace and power rather than just lofting it
We look dangerous on set pieces near the box, Burns from the left and McPhail from the right, wipped in at pace, hard to defend against. mind, Shuker is normally the one who wins the free kick by being pushed off the ball by big brutish centre backs, he's only little, etc.
I agree.. we look dangerous when we do what you say. It usually goes tits up and ends up wasted when we play two yard free kicks...
but then again....... I hate free kicks that a go out for a goal kick b drop in goalis hand bit of variety can unsettle opposition
