I suspect a big fall out, and I suspect it's to do with formation.... Just have to look at the body language of players e.g. Anderson, and the fact that we seem to be scrapping as individuals not as a team. I reckon we went back to 4-4-2 cos Disco was back, but as soon as we went 2-0 down, straight back to everyone tripping over each other in midfield formation (surely on Davey's instructions). From then on we have JCR trying to be everyone in the team & Anderson & Leon apparently sulking. Leon off at h/t - he was't good, but any player hauled off at ht is going to be upset. Not sure what formation is supposed to be - not sure players know, but JCR needs to be wide, and Anderson should be left (alongside someone) to run the centre. Though Butterfied did ok when he came on, but hugely frustrated at the tactics.
I'd say that either the tactics were poor or they weren't listened to, because the midfield were all over the place. JCR was playing a bit like the kid who thinks he's better than everyone else on Poggy Rec, running back and demanding the ball off our defenders. We just played with no shape, and that's why we kept giving the ball away. When our defenders are having to clear the ball it would be a good idea for them to have a rough idea as to where their teammates are, so they could at least clear the ball into a position where there's a chance it wouldn't go straight back to the opposition, but our midfielders didn't give them that luxury, as it was impossible to predict where they'd be. Without Foster and Colace in the team it all gets a bit disjointed too easily. And it doesn't help that we have a winger who doesn't seem to like crossing the ball and a forward who doesn't seem to like heading the ball!
Glad it's not just me who thinks it's schoolboy esque http://www.barnsleyfc.org.uk/bbs/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=132393&mid=880709#M880709
