Firstly...........after weeks of losing, the team has just started to build up a winning momentum..........that momentum could be disrupted with the appointment of a new manager. So its a matter of re-booting the coaching culture of the club again...........no matter what the Official Barnsley website says. A new manager is going to take weeks before he knows the quality of the players we have - the season is drawing to an end, we haven't got that time. Consequently, Lee Johnson leaving now is probably going to kill any outside chance we have of reaching the play-offs On the other hand..........Lee Johnson wasn't that well liked at the WELL, basically because in the short time he was here he lost a string of matches. The fans were expecting top 6 or there abouts from the start of the season - instead we have hovered above the relegation zone for what seems to be most of the season. But does that make him a bad manager - or - was there a lot of things to sort out at the club to get the club moving in the right direction? So in conclusion..........I think its very disappointing he has moved at this time of the season...........but in my opinion, there are better managers out there that with the quality of players we have would have kept us in and around the top six.
I wasn't expecting top six nudge and don't know any of my mates and associates that were although I'll concede there were some but not in general as your statement is implying. Although I was hoping for top six which is a bit different innit.
i don't give a **** either way, if he'd stayed, fair do's for trying to do a job, he doesn't wanna stay so go only like a player at the end of the day and wish him well in the future. no loyalty in footy anymore, not his fault, he got offered a better job with more pay!
