    And to ensure that we don't become the next america where gun crime is rife and mass murders are not uncommon I believe that no person in the UK should be allowed to own a gun. Nobody needs them, they simply choose to have them. Ban them all and make the punishment for anyone caught in possession of a firearm a life prison sentence, none negotiable.

    No they don't. Farmers choose to own them. Name me one thing that a farmer needs a gun for and I will name you an alternative. Nobody needs to own one.

    How many rabbits do farmers actually shoot? A tiny, tiny percentage. How about poison instead? Traps?

    I've heard the excuse that farmers need to be able to protect their crops and animals but in reality unless a farmer sits in the middle of a field with a gun 24 hours a day what are the chances that he is actually going to see an animal stealing food/killing his animals? Slim.

    Guns in this country are well enough controlled in my opinion, except in the inner city gangs. I agree sentences should be sterner for firearms offences but i would never out law them.

    How do you poison vermin without poisoning your livestock, and if they don't protect there live stock we'd struggle to live,

    They don't protect their livestock with guns though do they. They don't stand in fields 24 hours a day.

    Livestock in field with fence round it. Poison or trap outside of fence where livestock can't reach.

    no they shoot the foxes, when they come out at night, the animals go mental make noise because a fox is here, the farmer comes out and bang, no more fox

    and you can't go putting poison down because you'd kill wildlife such as birds and none vermin animals

    Guns dont kill people,people do.

    They banned hand guns after dumb lane. Made very little difference. There are places in England where buying a gun is as straight forward as buying a big mac.
