And that is whether you like it or not. It doesn't matter if a band has sold 100 albums or 1 million albums as to whether you like it or not. Let's face it - fans of the Artic Monkeys kept citing the fact that it was the fastest selling debut album (which in itself is pretty subjective because all that means is it's sold more copies in it's first week of release, other albums could have sold more over the course of a month or a year etc), so using that premise I guess that previously they were fans of Girls Aloud as that previously held that distinction!
Yes sales mean nothing in terms of whether you like the music or not, but you tend to hope that the band you like become successful in that department, basically so they stick around and release more stuff you like. If I like a song or a particular band, it doesn't matter who writes what about it, I'm not suddenly going to think "oh yeah, you're right, actually I don't like it anymore"
RE: rhcp-stadium arcadium 5.5 million Not as good as their last 2 IMO. I often think that the best album for a band is often followed by an album that sells more, probably to do with word of mouth and people borrowing the earlier album off friends, which then leads them to buy the next album by the band on release.
RE: rhcp-stadium arcadium 5.5 million i prefer there earlier grunge stuff but tthis albbum has some excellant tracks on it,a lot of fillers too. Can,t help thinking if they had condensed it into a single album it would have been a classic!
