Opinion Gordon Brown is an Idiot

A labour MP calls for Clarkson to be sacked and a load of self interested w*ankers (RNIB) jump on the bandwagon of righteous indignation and offer to "holds talks with Clarkson to discuss his attitude".... For what? Not because he called the PM an idiot but because he referred to him as a 'one eyed' idiot.
Now hands up all those blind people who find that "deeply offensive" as the RNIB would have us believe. FFS! I wear glasses and if some one called me a speccy four eyed tw*t...(pause for someone to call me a "speccy four ey....etc")...I would be more upset by the Tw*t bit than the "speccy four eyed" bit.

During my life I have worked with lots of physically disabled people, blind, partly sighted, Cerebral Palsy, partially paralysed and not one has been " deeply offended" by that sort of thing unless the remark was obviously intended to be an insult. Many of them make the sort of jokes about themselves that these do-gooders would be up in arms about.

Before long comedy and satire will die out because people will be afraid to say anything for fear of these do-gooder, PC, fools trying to get them sacked, suspended, banned from the airwaves. Just like those that see racist comments in everything. **** em all I say. Oh and I don't think Gordon is an Idiot. As a politician he is just a devious lying Tw*t. " If elected we won't raise taxes one penny"........ once elected the 1st thing he does is put up National Insurance 1% ..."No more boom and bust" yeah right Gordon!!!

the worst thing about this country is all the pc ****, i really agree with you about the people with disabilities, i have had one since birth and had 50/60 operations and for the rest of my life i piss through a tube that i put in the side of my stomach, and all of my mates no this and take piss in good light hearted spirit and its something i accept and get on with, i know there only having a laugh and it doesnt bother me one bit, clarkson is one of the best people on tele in my opinion and he justifies his place on the license fee wage bill,

the big thing is this is ment to be a country of free speech or they like us to believe that, i for one doubt this as we are constantley being told what we can and cannot say and not aloud to voice our opinions on, i personally think all polititions are arse holes but hey,

...Clarkson says a lot of what he says just to provoke a reaction/debate and for entartainment value. If you read his books and you are of a certain age you would probably agree with about 50-60% of what he says even if the way he says it is not to your liking. I think he is clever and incisive 50% of the time and the other 50% he is a conceited arrogant snob.
Like I said though Clarkson being an arse was not really the point I was making.

 

Ask yourself what was the relevance of including the fact that Gordon brown is blind in one eye in the same sentence as describing him as an idiot.
Clarkson infers that G.B. was an idiot because he was blind in one eye.
For this he deserves to be castigated.

Working with a 'lot of disabled people' doesn't give you the right to speak on their behalf although the fact that you do so says a lot about your attitude to disability.

Why are you really so sure that not one of your workmates has ever been 'deeply offended?'
You may not find Clarksons views offensive, but why do you object to those people who do?

Do you not agree that disabled people should hold views which may be different to yours, do you not agree that those people have a right to express those views?

I have more than one disability..................

It's a PERSONAL thing if one wishes to have the rise taken out of oneself..........it usually comes from the person with the disability........ I myself take the rise out of my disabilities........and with reluctance my mates join in....

But his disability has nothing to do with the way Gordon Brown runs this country.
The reason you bring the issue of his visual disability into this discussion is to try to reinforce the opinion that he is doing a bad job.
What you are doing is equating disability with inability.
