In any business the chairman makes the big decisions, especially where money is involved. Obviously the chairman will listen to the manager but at the end of the day the chairmans word is final.

If, after listening to the manager the chairman makes a decision that the manager doesn't agree with. The manager is left with two options:

    A) grin & bear it and follow the party line (which Ritchie appears to be doing somewhat half heartedly)

    B) resign (I can't see him doing that in the position we are in at the moment)

    Thing is.......

    this doesn't seem money orientated??

If we get any money from a transfer of Mr Burns it will be minimal to say the least as Burns is currently coming to the end of his contract. In reality he can sign for them now for nothing and go in the summer.

If it was solely for the cash then maybe you are right and the Chairman feels we need the money to make ends meet. But it seems its been initiated by Burns to make the Australia squad.

I understand Ritchie not wanting to stand in the way of a player with world cup ambitions but yet again the chances of him making the squad are minimal to say the least. The club should be looking at that and thinking, we need him here to help in our promotion push, which again lends to the theory that its not for the money because any transfer fee would not cover the amount of money from being in the play offs at least.

Strangest transfer news of the season without a doubt, thats if he goes of course.
