You know one good game against a decent team and he's a world beater... He ended up on a free transfer to the cod heads.
He's played four times in competitive action deetee and i can't remember him playing badly. Against Birmingham in the game he started he looked the star and that was about 16 month ago.
Played well at Pride Park alongside Butterfield, too. I was there that night and was shouting obscenities at Shackell all night but i still recall Diggers looking mature beyond his years. But I do agree that we should chill art a bit until we see him in regular second tier action. Just as folk should chill art criticising players who aren't even playing *ahem, Bobby* and those who like to slag off McNulty despite him doing naff all wrong.
I just think EVERY player deserves the same treatment. Last season under Flicker, the team did us proud. So I think it's a tad saddening to see the knives already out for McNulty, Alnwick in particular, and yes your continued Hassell baiting. We decided to call a truce last week, didn't we? So was there any need for the Jake Scott thread where 'again' it was a blatant Hassell baiting exercise? Be happy, Phil. We're looking good. We should all be optimistic, not arguing about who's better than who.
David Mulligan. Firs two or three games, best right back we've had in years (and I was one of those singing his praises). After that, he was ****.
To be fair to Rob Atkinson, I thought he looked pretty decent and was a bit surprised when we released him. I couldn't make the game last night, although I would have loved to go, but Diggers has always looked a decent prospect when he's played. He seems to have the ability to thwart opposition attacks and then pick out a brilliant pass.
