Ricketts has already gone..........but there's a long list of others that could go which will leave plenty of room for bringing other players in during the close season Reid Johnson Togwell Nardiello Mostto Atkinson (I think this guy could come good, but SD dosen't seem to rate him) Ferenczi Christensen Coulson (I think this guy could come good, but SD dosen't seem to rate him) Plus there may be a few of the academy guys that could be off loaded We have a good bunch of players, if we off load the above list we can really strengthen the team for the coming season We need a strong FULL squad next season so all departments are covered for injuries and suspensions We cannot go through the same palava this season like we did last season when Hassell was called on to deputise for De Silva. OK, De Silva is something special in this league and would be difficult to replace at any Championship club......but its got to be someone who can pass a ball .......and Hassell obviuosly can't, the guy has played all his proffesional carrer as a defender
Some of those mentioned are still under contract. I can see only about 5 to go, Johnson, Reid, Nardiello, Togwell, and possibly Mostto. More to the point who is he going to bring in. IMHO i would get rid of quite a few, Johnson, Reid, Togwell, Christenson, Hassell, Ferenczi, Mostto, Odejayi, leatheren, and Coulson. That won't happen as some of them are still under contract, but they need to be replaced has soon as possible. We need to progress and bring in better players than the ones mentioned.
Has anyone ever noticed, a lot of the teams that do well, do well, because they've been given time? Did anyone notice, the 04/05 season we did **** all, given an extra twelve months, we won promotion. Nobody, ever, ever seems to learn from the mistakes. Players like Odejayi, Mostto & Coulson have not been given anywhere near enough time.
Odeiay Now lets look at this guy,mmmm 30 + games and how many goals single figures i think, Christiensen not been given oppertunities and neither has Mostto, OJ has tried and failed at this level and should be replaced as i am sure Mostto and Christensan will be but the difference is the latter 2 have not had enough time... I've said that many times slowly add to the squad and you build a team over time its much easier to integrate one or two players than 6 or 7! Look at donnys destination championship campaign and when paul hart brought in shed loads of players! This year we have done exceptionally well but I do not think we need a huge overhaul!?!?! Togwell is a good player yet SD prefers Hassell in his position!?!? Get shot of two of the strikers Mosotto and Christienson, sign Nards as he has played his best football under SD he needs a good run of games, Coulson works his socks off but I am not sure if he can make it at Championship level? Sort out a settled back 4 which I think is; Foster Souza Nayatanga Kozluk Midfield keeping Howard would be a bonus but we need some more strength in depth and if he is not playing togwell and out on the wings Upfornt is the key a proven goalscorer would be superb but I cannot see who?
Heartily agree. An addition of a strong midfielder and the elusive 20 goals-per-season-man would be good like, but there's a lot of truth in what you've said.
