    Here it is

Rotherham United Football Club yesterday evening received a formal approach from Barnsley Football Club requesting permission to speak with John Breckin, Steve Taylor and Nick Daws. All three were contacted individually by telephone and asked if they wished to speak with Barnsley FC. All three confirmed that they did and were simultaneously given permission and placed on 'gardening leave' until the outcome of their discussions is resolved.

Assistant Manager & 2 first team coaches.

Rov'rum have also got Simon Tracey as a goalkeeping coach. Wonder why he hasn't been approached?

    Why not?

I imagine O'Hanlon will be leaving now the Rotherham backroom staff have been contacted.

Leaving us a GK Coach short, will bring in new and fresh ideas too.

    Yup

They've been very professional throughout - think the Chairman's come across very well every time he's discussed it.

Has another club ever put the full coaching staff on gardening leave because of an apporach? Very business like.

    Reminds me a bit

Of when Allan Clarke left for Leeds United in 1980 and took Martin Wilkinson and Barry Murphy with him (Norman Rimmington turned down the opportunity). We'd lost the man who'd galvanised the club in a way not seen before , or since, for the club up the M1. The untried Norman Hunter and Ian Evans became manager & coach respectively and were joined in the first team set up by Bobby Collins, who moved up from looking after the youth team. In the end it worked out well for us, but not for Leeds (who were relegated 18 months later and Clarke was sacked).

Full-Back in his time. So hope he sorts the back line out.....But out of respect to Tony Stewert, I hope we leave there best players alone.....
