Then there's playing Bobby Hassell when the poor fcker can hardly move. Sam Togwell sat in his suit in the players lounge.

    It's your job Simon......

He has the stubbornness and self-belief of a far better manager.

    Whats our best team?

is it the one that played Chelsea off the park? Cos that means Macken and Nyatanga have to go. is it the one that beat Watford 3-nil? that means a miget midfield. which players are up for the fight and which ones are tired? We've all got a different opinion. Davey picked the wrong team on Saturday, imho. Nardiello, Leon and Nyatanga are not robust enough for a relegation battle. Hassell looke tired, but I dont think chucking Togwell straight in will do him any favours. Van H is capable at right back, Foster and Souza are the best centre half pairing. No room for sentiment. Am confident that Davey will get it right.

Togwell won't just be chucked in though. he's not a bairn, and in the absence of owt else, he'd get about the pitch and close the opposition down. Their no.9 had a little wander thro' our midfield un hindered all day Saturday.

And the job of firing the team up is down to the manager. He did it v Chelsea, why couldn't he do on Saturday ?

The other point you make is a good one - the back 4 from the Cup games looks much better than our league back 4. Nyatanga dropped for me.

    You find it difficult

as your 2 lonely braincells cannot digest an opinion that is constructive and rational as opposed to your hysterical, uninformed drivel.

    Togwell drops too deep

and we seem to invite pressure when he plays, rate him as an option to come on when we need to keep possession, but Hassell is more than capable, if Howard is 100% fit, its just a case of moping up. No room for both Howard and Leon.

JCR and Devaney on the wings, I'd play ODJ from the start, maybe even Stan. We've been too cagey in the last 2 games, maybe a more positive, attacking attitude is needed, rather than protect what we've got. Needs to be brave though.

Nardiello was robust enough last season

He's just had a shocker on his return this year!

We've only got two wingers that's our problem, if ones injured or is out of form we have no replacements. Hence laying only performing well in the centre of the park (Hull excempt).

    No

I just find it unbelievable that after some of the performances, signings, substitutions etc under Davey you still have this blind faith in him and can't bear to see anyone say owt negative about him.

Hassell plays on our 18 yard line

Maybe they play to the managers orders ?

Davey needs to accept that currently he's not as smart and crafty as he'd like to be and get back to basics - go out and attack. Because we can't fcking defend anything.

The whole defensive line plays too deep for me, when we clear a corner the defence barely runs out beyond the penalty spot.

    "Hassell is more than capable"

If we stay up, we'll have been very lucky with Davey making decisions like this. Hassell hasn't a clue going forward and the gaps we have in midfield is scary. He may have had a good game against Chelsea, but for the majority of time I think he's hopeless.

I thought holding midfielders were supposed to be deep? Hassell for me gets too high up the pitch for a holding midfielder - often seen ahead of Howard which leaves huge gaps behind. Hassell is very poor going forward, and when it leaves huge gaps thats when we are exploited. I think he may be able to play the position better if he stayed deep, and let Howard do his stuff going forward.

And don't get me started on the deep defensive line again. We concede far too many goals from sitting on the edge of our own penalty area.

Same here. We didn't look the same when Nardi when off on Saturday - love him or loathe him.

There's a fine line between stubborness and stupidity. Davey is on the borderline.
