Are we sure that they were coppers? Witnesses say that they were all in plain clothes.......... .......... i know it is a long shot but could they have in fact been members of the SAS? Given the alleged brutality of the shooting (one bloke on the radio said that they had him pinned on the floor, put one foot on his chest and shot him 5 times). Also bear in mind that the SAS did do a lot of undercover surveillance work on terrorist suspects in Northern Ireland during the troubles. Could it be that they were following a suspect? One for roundsman me thinks.
I don't really think that that is much of an issue. We should all be grateful right now to the security services, police or sas, for nailing the *******. BUT.....even if it is SAS it can't be a pleasant thing to do.
Sorry, What difference does it make which organisation they were from? Personally I don’t care if the were SAS, SBS MI5 or even MFI, wherever as long as they have stopped another atrocity. good luck to them, maybe he would have been better alive that way we may have gleaned some for information from him but these guys on the spot had a split second decision to make WELL DONE I SAY. We have too may dogooders in this country and know is the time to start getting tough on these ********. For a start we should put that one eyed **** with hook on the first boot out of here. If they don’t like it they should **** off.
The SAS are trained to undertake these actions dispassionatly. Probably "job done" let's move on.</p> I've no doubt that on reflection they may consider their actions but this is their job and no matter how difficult it is for us "Joe Soaps" to understand they have to carry it out efficiently and clinically ></p>
I dont think the SAS would get involved in such a incident but i would like to echo the thanks mentioned before.(clap) Fight fire with fire(battered)
you could be right Police officers have very strict regulations on when they can and can not open fire so I doubt it was them. I'd go for the SAS but more likely just members of MI5. It sounds fancifull but it seems obvious to me.
Let Abu Hamza go... and let him plt from outside the country</p> or let him stay and be able to watch the ****</p> I know which I prefer</p>
You could well be right, but does it matter? All major witnesses were taken away by police to a nearby vetinary surgeons office without being allowed to speak to the press.
The questions have started already. Muslim leaders have called on the police to explain why an Asian man was shot dead at Stockwell station. The Muslim Council of Britain said Muslims were concerned there was a "shoot to kill" policy in operation. A spokesman said Muslims he had spoken to were "jumpy and nervous". Inayat Bunglawala said: "I have just had one phone call saying 'What if I was carrying a rucksack?'. "It's vital the police give a statement about what occurred and explain why the man was shot dead. "There may well be reasons why the police felt it necessary to unload five shots into the man and shoot him dead, but they need to make those reasons clear. "We are getting phone calls from quite a lot of Muslims who are distressed about what may be a shoot to kill policy." He said in the current atmosphere Muslims were very afraid and other people were looking at them in a very suspicious manner." Every bullet entering the body would have lessened by a small degree the chance that any device requiring human motor function to detonate would be exploded. There is no guarentee that a single shot would have killed the man, unless it is an obvious and clear head shot. Bullets rarely detonate modern explosives but had the man still had any use at all of whatever part of his body explosives could be detonated then he may well have taken them with him, If he was no longer carrying explosives then hard lines, you must treat it as a hostile situation and deal with it accordingly. Been more handy to have him to question a while but,,,,,,,,,,,,,, needs must and all that.
RE: The questions have started already. It was an "intelligence lead operation." He was being followed. I know that so they should. Maybe if they put a little more enthusiasm into helping the authorities flush the terrorists out they wouldn't have so much to complain about.
RE: The questions have started already. "Muslim leaders have called on the police to explain why an Asian man was shot dead at Stockwell station." Police have called on Muslim leaders to explain why 52 innocent people were killed at various locations and 700 injured. Seems like it's one rule for one and one for another.
RE: The questions have started already. It'll end in bloodshed and tears - that's for sure. It frightens me what is simmering out there. Judging by the interviews on the radio this morning, this is turning tolerant Lononers into racists. Just what the bombers wanted...
RE: The questions have started already. I can't get my head around why the guy was chased on a tube train and shot dead there and then rather than being arrested.
Civil War ? Is that where both sides are civil to each other ? 'Good morning old chap, how are you?' 'Glorious, Sir, just glorious - can I shoot you in the liver?' 'By all means - but I must warn you that I intend to stab you in the heart first' 'Shall we have afternoon tea first' 'Splendid idea'. It's not that is it.
