Both young, both been playing regular and performing well, all be it at a lower level, reading fan reports they seem to have been putting in the effort and hard work at their current clubs to get a chance at a higher level, I think these are exactly the type of players/people we need to be signing, and they play in the positions we're crying out for new faces and a bit of quality.

I just hope we can get them both and on contracts longer then one or two seasons.

    Agree.

I remember reading some comments from Everton fans about stones. (Whos he dah de dah etc). We knew what they were getting.

Same might be for these. And I hope we get them.

Sick of all the crap I am reading. But hey ho. Lets carry on signing "named players" cos they have done brilliantly for us the last few years haven't they.

    Lets have some unknown hunger.

Given the choice between young, hungry players who want to make a name and premier league signings who dont give a ***** I know who I would choose.

I agree 100% re loanees from premier league teams, but to me having a player on a one year contract is no different to a loanee, we need to identify young hungry players such as these two and take a risk on them by offering longer contracts around 3 year plus, so we can develop them and make a decent profit instead of having the piss taken out of us all the time.

The dilemma the club have is that if they give them a two or three year deal and they don’t work out we are stuck with them but if we put them on a one year deal and they turn out to be a 'diamond' then we lose them.

I understand and can see why they don't, but as I said I think we need a change in tactic when it comes to signing players. And once they are contracted to the club we need to have the ****** to make the better players see out their contract if it benefits the club. According to the club we've lost out on three million pounds this season for being relegated, so if we get promoted this year we've made £3 million pound, for me Chris O'Grady could be the difference between going up and not and for the sake of 250k I think the club should have the balls to make him see out the contract he signed last summer

Not having a go at you mate, but I think we can take what The Barnsley Star say with a pinch of salt. A number of their articles in the recent past have proved to be inaccurate, cobbled together from other sources. I don't know how true it is, but I've heard the club don't even speak to anyone from The Barnsley Star, or maybe it's The Star that don't send reporters to talk to the club.

There's a lot of animosity on here towards The Chronicle, and they don't always get it right, but they do have journalists covering Barnsley FC, they do speak to people at the club and they do investigate what they believe to be accurate news stories. I'm not sure everything they print is always helpful, but they try to be an independent media organisation supporting the local team while also holding them to account. Tricky situation and I think they fall down sometimes, but it's better to ask the questions than just print what they're told.

Maybe what The Star has printed is correct, but I'm going to wait until it has been confirmed by the club.
