Would be saying how brilliant we were and how much possession we have had We were lucky against Wales and we are lucky to qualify This, so far, has been a very poor and frustrating tournament by England
How do you know most on here would say that? Thought we played well against Russia and Wales, Tonight we were garbage even though we dominated possession more than the other 2 games. Our lack of nous tonight stood out
You say 'How do you know most on here would say that'....................because a win to most people on here means a good performance...........IT DOSENT !!! We were poor against Russia like we were poor against Wales like we were poor against Slovakia.......... You don't get points for having the bulk of possession.......you get points for being clinical in front of goal.........and England isn't.......and hasn't been throughout the tournament On the chances we had we should have scored at least 4 against Slovakia
As usual hysteria reigns on here. We're not brilliant but I don't think we're rubbish either. We played Russia off the park and conceded an unfortunate late goal. In Wales and Slovakia we came up against two sides who weren't interested in trying to beat us. We're not alone in struggling to get through an 11 man defence. That said, I thought we were too slow and ponderous tonight. Once Slovakia had gone into complete shut down Vardy became insignificant and Clyne was unable to get behind them any more. We didn't have the speed of thought to pick them open at close range and they got a catalogue of great blocks in. One thing I will say. Jordan Henderson. Terrible. He had about four opportunities in the first half to deliver a killer ball and wasted every one. In the second half he looked laboured and slow of thought. I never watch the premier league so don't know if he's always like that but good grief he was painful to watch. Hopefully in the knockout stages we'll come up against teams who actually want to win the game and we might see if we're any good when we've got a bit more space in front of us.
