I left in 2004, missed most things, therefore I returned in 2007. It won't happen again.

Left in 2012. Not a million miles away but far enough to miss a lot of things. The fact that Barnsley is practically cosmopolitan compared to where I've moved to doesn't help though . . . .

Moved out in 88 , do miss a lot of things but I do prefer city life now. Family still in Barnsley - I do love visiting but Liverpool has a buzz about it that I would miss.

I've never lived in barnsley so can't answer but it would take something special to get me to move from Yorkshire. It really is a fantastic place.

Barnsley looked very cosmopolitan on Saturday, an African fella shouting about Jesus and another foreign fella balanced on a stick plus the usual plethora of Eastern Europeans.

I'd miss the football and the chippy and that's about it really, and my family if they didn't move with me.

Are you sure you didn't take half the bulbs with you when you moved?

Moved away in 1992. Whenever I come back, it is home, I can breathe. Don't know if I would want to live back in Barnsley permanently. As my family get older my heart says yes, but my head says I probably shouldn't, mainly due to work opportunities.

Your location says Goole. So I'm guessing it's Goole.

I left in 1981, moved back in 1992, left again in 2000. I now only return for football and family, if they weren't there it wouldn't bother me if I never visited again.

to Join the Royal Air Force. The list of things I miss is huge, but where I now live in South Wales is not unlike where I lived in South Yorkshire so I get by ok.

There's no doubt the town centre's a dump & a lot of the surrounding villages are run down but I love the town.

Family, friends, football club, plenty of good places to eat, a few pubs I love going to, plenty of nice places to take dog out, we've also largely avoided the knife & gun crime that you get in the cities & due to the lack of foreigners in the town (compared to Leeds, Bradford, Sheffield etc) very few race issues

Lived in Egham in Surrey for 23 years. Go back to visit my mum in Wombwell from time to time and went back to have a look where I lived in Elsecar for 35 years. Anyone who knows Welland Crescent will maybe understand when I say I don't miss living there !
