lol. BFC Dave was up at my house and I was a bit down about having agreed to stay in Barnsley and watch the match with someone who couldn't go. He made the point that it's a long way back if you lose. I think, all things taken into consideration, I suppose I'm glad I didn't go now. It wouldn't be so bad if we'd just been outplayed like we were against Ipswich but it's a bit of a sickener to lose to one unworked, opportunist goal having bossed the entire match. What's most frustrating is all that exciting approach play coming to sod all every time because Simon Davey couldn't spot a striker if he sat on his face.
In ref to bossing the match please visit http://www.skysports.com/football/match_report/0,19764,11065_2968834,00.html and look at the stats at the bottom. Sorry for any derailment of thread.
If that was a good day out: I think I'll kill myself now to save me having another one. I've had hundreds of good days out in my life, but yesterday certainly wasn't one. 11 hours on a coach getting to and from the most ridiculously located stadium in the world. Why the hell did they build it in that **** hole? Being treated with contempt by the organisation that is Wembley with their ludicrous pricing policy. £6.10 for a pie! £3.50 for a pint of lager that the manufacturers are so embarrassed about they won't even put their name to it. Watching my team, in the biggest match of their lives, put in the same kind of lacklustre performance that they've managed away from home all season, which has left us staring relegation in the face. They wouldn't have scored if we'd played until Christmas. The rest of our fans must have felt the same as me as the atmosphere was as flat as a pancake. Compare yesterday to the spine tingling atmosphere created in our home game against Chelsea. There is no comparison. Then there was the death march squeezing through the labyrinth of coaches spewing out their noxious fumes. Someone is going to die in that coach park. It's an absolute disgrace. Thousands and thousands of Barnsley fans were born, lived and died without having the chance to see Barnsley in an FA Cup semi-final at Wembley. The lucky b@stards.
and to make it worse the service"s we stopped at on way home beggars believe all coahes must have stopped there at same time it was murder trying to get in and out
I usually agree with you And I agree the atmosphere was not like the Chelsea game, and the result was a ******. But it was still a great day. I went with my dad and my son to watch Barnslet play at Wembley. I will probably never get to do that again. OK if I am honest we never looked like getting the goal we needed, but its been like that all season. We all know there are some players that dont cut the mustard, but they did amazingly to get that far. So thanks to them, for giving me chance to go to Wembley.
I'll remember the Chelsea game for the rest of my life. An amazing day. And the Liverpool game come to that, despite the fact that I only watched it on the big screen at Oakwell. The sooner I forget the trip to Wembley the better. I didn't go for a day out, I went to see my team try to get to an FA Cup final. They never looked like doing that. The facilities, organisation and location of our national stadium only served to make the day even shitter.
If you remember When this idea of a 'national stadium' was first mooted, the other, much-called-for, option was in the midlands. Green-field site just off the M42, near the NEC complex. It would have been finished on time, on budget, with great motorway access right on the doorstep for fans coming from just about everywhere. Whoever made the decision to opt for the complete and utter shithole that is Wembley should be buried in the concrete of the next doomed FA project. Appalling experience.
It was an awful day out Simply that.
The organisation in and around Wembley was shambolic. The game was awful - bloody awful.
And the bus park was a total disgrace and a threat to health and safety.

Perhaps I am fooling myself But I thought we could get that goal back all the first half. And agree the spirit seemed missing in the second half. Not sure I agree about Wembley. For me it was impressive and far better than the Millenium. We got in and out on the train, no problem. Traveled with a mix of Red fans and Cardiff fans, all of whom were friendly. Pity about the atmosphere, however at the kick off, I thought to volume was amazing. It just did not happen after than. So perhaps thats the fans rather than the staduim at fault.
