Some folk really must have nice worry free lives to be so het up and stressed about some of the stuff I'm reading on here.

    God help us all.

    I'm not depressed

I like being a Barnsley fan, always have and always will. I look forward to every game and enjoy most of them.

    Same here mate

Yes I'd love us to sign a brilliant striker, but having watched Barnsley for over 20 years (a lot less than most on here but...), I can't think of many really good strikers we've had.

Payton was okay, Hendrie and Ward were excellent, Fjortoft did okay, and Shipperley and Dyer were good. Ferenczi was good for 6 months.

    That's about it.

The last striker we had with much genuine quality was Bruce Dyer, yet most folk castigate him at every chance.

    Funnily Enough

Some of our legend goalscorers have been midfield players, rather than out and out strikers. People like Redfearn, Hignett, Glavin etc. Even Howard.

We have rarely (as far as I can remember) had a striker figuring in the top goalscorers listings regardless of which league we were playing in.

And anyway, all non-English strikers are ****, all strikers you have never heard of are ****, all strikers playing in div 1 or lower are ****, all strikers you have never seen are ****. Those seem to be the general rules on here.

know what you mean extremely frustrating on here...when you offer an opinion you recieve derogatory and cliquish replies, (DORK hartog et al).have never encountered such self righteous, pompous, indulgent, ignorant, crass and puerile responses.. little people with a big mouth behind closed doors..

    Yep

Hignett was probably in the top 3 strikers I've seen, when he played up front a few times he was brilliant, as he was in midfield.

Indeed, unless we find £5m we're going to sign someone ****, nailed on :D

    Too right

Tell you what IS depressing ... spending the whole weekend clearing out your house with the end result that your house is in a much worse mess than when you started. (banghead) (cryin)

Come on here for a little bit of light entertainment .... ready to go & read the phone book now.
What we need is some new blood on here - new members, with some interesting stories to tell.

Getting het up over football must be a man thing

    :D

As much as I like football, I have enough to worry about without thinking whether Mr Cryne and Mr Davey arre trying to sign anyone. I still think they will though!

    the thing that annoys me....

is that the davey out, why havent we signed rooney brigade seem to shout loudest and claim to represent the rest of us. i am sure most barnsley fans are relatively happy with the state of affairs

No I don't think you did. Do tell, sounds interesting.

Did I ever tell you I have a morbid fear of being watched from a distance? Like someone's watching my every move, but I can't quite be sure they're there. If only they'd show themselves. (dunno)

I stopped worrying too much about football a while ago

Think it's when I had kids, or was it when I started taking an interest in men, or was it beer?

Oh I don't know, but as you say there are more important things to worry about.

Glad to hear you're feeling better.

    I'm ok thanks.

Don't feel as tired or drained as I have been doing and can keep food and drink down at last.

Should've had my booster vaccinations at school on Friday but will have to arrange to have them done at the GP's.

RE: the thing that annoys me....

Rubbish the loudest on here are the ones that think you should not have your own opinion and that you should agree with everything they say.
This board is no different than going into the pub or club 20 years ago and having the same discussions.
