This Bogdanovic isn't going to get a chance is he?

People seem to have made up their minds already that he's not up to it . . . . the first missed shot or missed place pass everyone (or at least a majority) will be straight on his (and Daveys) case.

 

I think the fact he's unproven at our level is worrying to most on here and rightly so, there is a chance of course that the lad will fit the bill, but, given our precarious position in the league is this the time to be taking such a gamble?

 

He's unproven and it is a gamble there is no doubt abaout that..

but he does deserve a chance to prove what he is capable of. He can't be worse than KO or Rigters can he? So that's got to be a start.

 

I wouldn't disagree with you at all. I just hope the lad is given a bit of a chance and its not decided he's ***** after 15 minutes tonight.

Hopefully he will not be our only signing. If he's just part of a revamped attacking unit then I would say fair enough, there's no harm in adding him to the squad. He could give us options as he can also play wide right; this is where he has been playing for Lokomotiv Sofia. If he turns out to be the only signing, then it's been a very disappointing transfer window that has not addressed our needs.

The knowledge of people on this site is unbelievable ,why managers employ scouts to watch players is beyond me when all they have to do is come on here and ask about a player and wait for the response.

He'll get my support like any other player does when he puts on the red shirt. I freely admit that I know nothing about him as a player. What I do know though is that he's 28 and played most of his career at a very low standard. I don't blame anyone for feeling a bit deflated by the signing. We're in a relegation struggle and relying on an unproven striker to get the goals to get us out of trouble. No pressure on the lad like....

 

Do we actually employ scouts or do we just look on YouTube? It wouldn't surprise me for some of the more far flung players. People on here seem to think that a montage of goals on YouTube proves he's a good player. They forget we saw the same impressive presentations for Oddjob and Mostto.

 

I suspect the lads agent has been touting him around the clubs with a bunch of videos under his arm and a link to youtube at the ready. I think that's how it usually works, then the club go and watch him play. I'd like to think at least someone has been out to watch him though I wouldn't put money on it.

....... they said that Davey had seen Mossto play before we signed him but when did he go to Peru? It was kept quiet if he did and he never missed any of our games to do it.

We definitely buy on the basis of YouTube/videos in my opinion

 

The problem here is this........

We cannot rely on an unproven striker to lift us clear of a threat of relegation
If we are to rely on this one player then we are in deep trouble because the spot light, and everything that comes with that, will be on him and him only

However, if this player is just one part of a total revamp of the strikers then things maybe different.

I'm trying to keep up to date here because I'm away and only get to a computer occasionally

He has been here on trial, training with the first team, for the past couple of weeks, so they have seen him at first hand.

 

But only in training .........

....... then again, Davey makes his judgements based on how they train rather than in a proper match doesn't he?

Time will tell, he gets my full backing until we see how good/bad he is

Surely all the subs bench should be playing for the reserves. Got to be better than just playing against each other in training. It's hardly a heavy schedule either. Just noticed they only play 16 games in a season!

........ 10am and noon, Monday to Friday

 

Most other clubs do it ............

......... can understand the concerns about players getting injured or suspended but you've got to weigh that up against players getting some proper match practice, it's another 'Daveyism', Coaching Badge A, Manual 3, no doubt
